Can somebody please explain to me why some people are so unreasonable? Specifically, how is it that there are people out there who think that NGOs should be staffed entirely by volunteers? I had the pleasure earlier today of listening to the rantings of a man accusing charities of "lining the pockets" of the people who work for them, by, I guess, paying them a living wage for the full-time work they do. According to him, NGO workers should at best be receiving stipends at below minimum wage, or else the organization is just wasting his donation.

I love working in non-profits, but I gotta eat, asswad. I can't afford to work for nothing. But hey, feel free to try and run a large international organization without any paid workers and let me know how that works out for you!
